Starting with the Basics of Longevity
Like many of you I am constantly seeing ads, posts, videos, reels, and audios for a laundry list of pills, potions, and lotions that are touted to improve your longevity. Some even seem to be the ultimate elixer for your best decades. "Just take THIS new pill and you are going to live for EVER", or so it seems.
I have to disagree.
They have it all wrong. Let's start from the beginning. Let's start with the basics.
You can add any number of supplements to your longevity routine, but if you don't have the basics down, then the supplements won't do the job you had wanted.
In Empire Longevity we look at five key components for LONGEVITY that can push you for more better years. Get better at these basics and supplements may not even be necessary.
1. MENTAL REST & FOCUS
Giving your mind time to routinely disengage and rest is critical. This is done with meditatioin, prayer, walks in nature, or listening to instrumental music like jazz or classical. VERY simple to do and follow through on.
2. ROCKET FUEL.
If you want a better mind we need a better body, and visa versa. This is done by eating foods that are anti-inflammatory, promote health, are anti-cancer, are low glycemic. This is easily found with the foods that are natural.
3. MOTION
Move more. Move daily. The Japanese live a decade longer than Americans while having a fraction of the gyms, spas, or fitness centers. How this be? They walk and ride bikes more than we do. They are more ACTIVE daily, and consistently.
4. GREAT SLEEP
You are going to sleep anyways, so why not make it sleep that promotes healing, adaptation, and repair. Do you have a sleep routine, and a consistant sleep time and awaken time? Imagine if we as adults took our sleep as seriously as we do the sleep of babys.
5. AN OPTIMIZED NERVOUS SYSTEM
Maybe the most overlooked aspect of longevity is having your nervous system in top order. We start by testing your nervous system with Heart Rate Variability (HRV) as it shows us if we are in fight-flight-flee state or in rest-digest state. Where do you think most Americans are? We test to see what state you are in and then blue print a plan to optimize your nervous system.
Once we have these five steps on lock, we can then ADD in other steps to take us even higher on the longevity plane. But those other steps won't be nearly as effective if we have not already claimed our best state.
